Back in grade school, we kids had to put brown paper covers on our notebooks.  We were allowed to draw on these covers.  Most of us were OK drawers except for this one kid who was really good.  It was fun to watch him putting his lines down.  He was an affable kid and would draw a pic on other kids covers when asked.  It always stood out from what was there already.  I remember thinking when I get to high school, they'll teach me how to draw like that.  But then, who taught that kid?  Once I asked him who his favourite drawer was and he said Wallace Wood.  Years later, when I looked at Wood's work on the 'net, I remembered this kid.  He'd moved to Germany the year after we met (service family) and I never saw him again.
